Asus has presented the world’s first smartphone certified to work with Tango and Daydream at the same time. The device, about which very little is known, turned out to be big and powerful – alike the possibilities it opens.
Asus ZenFone AR is based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor with Adreno 530 graphics and will ship with Android 7 (Nougat) OS. The motherboard supports 8 GB RAM, which will be very useful to the developers of augmented and virtual reality apps developers. The display uses AMOLED technology (the requirement of all Daydream devices), it is 5,7 inches big, its resolution is 1440×2560.
A special interest is brought by a cameras massive, which supports advanced augmented reality from Google. The back cover hides the branded visual sensors system Asus TriCam with the 23 MP RGB camera Sony IMX318. The system is capable of tracking surroundings, and also of determining the position of the user with the use of SLAM tracking technology. As headgear Google Daydream View can be used.
Unfortunately, the price and release date of the smartphone are kept secret.
